At Mobile World Congress Questions on How Data Underpins the Connected Society Take Centre Stage

DigitalRoute Demonstrates Leveraging Data as Backbone of Successful Digitization Initiatives

Stockholm, Sweden, February 22 2018 – DigitalRoute, the leading Data Integration and Data Management company, has announced its participation in Mobile World Congress 2018. MWC is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry and takes place in Barcelona from 26th February to 1st March.

At the event, DigitalRoute will be presenting technology that enables Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to address the critical challenge of infrastructure transformation driven by digitization. This year’s MWC tagline is ‘Creating a Better Future’ in respect of the quantum shift CSPs are now facing with the arrival of new delivery mechanisms like 5G, Cloud, IoT and APIs which are driving a generational shift in supporting B- and OSS infrastructure requirements.

Leading analyst firm Gartner underlined this challenge in a recent report: “Through 2019, a lack of architectural vision will erode ROI in operational technology applications for 80% of network-based CSPs.” With the increase in connected devices that use data to communicate, DigitalRoute’s integration and management technology will be critical to success. 

In Barcelona, DigitalRoute will focus on the transformation to becoming a digital service provider. In particular, the company will discuss:

  • Leveraging the Cloud: As telcos shift to delivering Cloud-based applications and services, what does Cloud-readiness require that’s different from legacy?
  • 5G demands the reuse of legacy investments in BSS, OSS and data applications by consolidating multiple system outputs into one horizontal data layer to improve commercial performance, increase efficiency and support network evolution by onboarding both new elements and business models. How can this be done?
  • How to ‘do’ IoT: Specifically with regard to monetizing partnerships and ecosystems; mediation within Big Data initiatives; data-driven services; the subscription economy and service-based charging models.
